Rebit Backup Review & Rating

Editor's Rating

In the world of backup, there is no shortage of products out there. Here is our complete review of Rebit backup software. We rated Rebit against the top three things that you must have/consider when looking to purchase a backup software.

  1. Affordability
  2. Ease of Use
  3. Flexibility

How Does Rebit Address These 3 Must-Haves?

Rebit backup review - Affordability Ease of use Flexibility

Affordability

Rebit Pro Personal is $4.99 per month which is a very competitive price for class-leading backup software with included cloud storage. As an added perk they offer a one-month free trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Rebit beats out competitors, such as Carbonite in both affordability and capability. We found Rebit to be one of the most affordable packages out there.

An added bonus is that once you have set up an account, it is straightforward to manage. You can access all of your past payments, change your plan, or make edits to your payment methods online.

Ease of Use

When it comes to purchasing software, you want to make sure that you are fully capable of utilizing it. Whether you are tech savvy or not, understanding how to use your backup software is key.

Rebit claims to be “ridiculously simple.”

That was proven to be true when it took less than five minutes from purchase to install and begin backing up files. It was straight forward and immediately after purchasing I received an email titled, “Rebit Quick Start Guide” which was extremely helpful to read through. The interface was organized which made it easy to navigate through the files that I wanted to backup.

They also have a lot of documentation on how to get your backup running smoothly, plus a support team should anything go wrong, or you have very specific questions that their how-to documentation doesn’t answer.

Reliability and Flexibility

Rebit is considered a reliable and relatively flexible software.

You have the option to fully restore or choose what files you would like to restore. We like the fact that with Rebit you can restore to previous versions of your system. If your computer were affected by a virus, you would be able to go back to before your computer was infected and restore from a specific day or time. This is called “full-system restore” or “bare-metal recovery.”

Now with that said, one con is that it is not available for Mac users. Rebit is currently for Windows only (with support for both Windows Personal versions and Windows Servers). But with multiple software updates yearly we may see a Mac option become available in the future.

Cloud Storage Options

Cloud storage is a must-have feature.

A lot of people will revert to using cloud file storage sites like Google Drive or Dropbox because they assume that they are the best free option, but when compared to Google Drive and Dropbox, Rebit is actually the most affordable and reliable option.

  • Dropbox offers 2 GB of free storage.
  • Google Drive offers 15 GB of free storage.
  • Rebit comes with 250 GB of online storage included with your backup software.

Rebit also allows you to simultaneously back up to multiple destinations:

  • Cloud
  • Local hard drive (such as a USB drive)
  • Network drive (such as a NAS drive)

What to expect

After purchasing Rebit Personal on their site, I had the software downloaded and running in a few minutes. It was straight forward and immediately after purchasing I received an email titled, “Rebit Quick Start Guide” which was extremely helpful to read through.

I immediately backed up my documents to Rebit’s cloud, and it was done in about 5-7 minutes. I was surprised at how fast the actual backup took. I had 175 folders that equaled to about 530 Megabytes, a fair amount of data.

After that, I set up a schedule for when I would like my backups to run. I chose to run my backups every Sunday.

Once the backup was complete, and I set the scheduled time I was able to log out and forget about it. There were no long run times or hang-ups. Total it took about 10 minutes from start to finish.

Conclusion

Overall, we recommend Rebit as an affordable, highly capable backup solution, all in one. The features are easy to use and allow customers different storage options as well. We also liked that you are able to try the software for a full month for free.
